Daydreams.

The sunny (finally) weather has me daydreaming about romantic summer picnics. Packing a basket, feeding each other strawberries, and hanging with Evan under a blaring sun sounds like the most wonderful thing.

What are you dreaming of these spring days?

Happy Hump Day :)

Rain & Sun

The weather around here has been super un-predictable. We had snow early in April, and since then it has been nonstop rain! Yesterday, we had a breakthrough of some sun and Evan and I biked ten miles! I was in pain during the biking, but after I felt so good! I was glad that I had planned dinner ahead, or else I would definitely not have had enough energy to figure out a meal. This morning was also pretty nice, and I had some errands to run so I rode my bike downtown instead of driving. It's a nice way to conserve, and it's good for me!
This is my bike. My awesome bike. That Evan bought for me. And I love it.

This little robin decided to camp out in our front yard, so I took some pictures of him.

Have a wonderful Tuesday<3

Fabulous Friday :)

I love this vanity. The rounded vanity is wonderful! And those mirrors!

I could soak for hours in that tub!

Well it's finally Friday! After a wholeeeee day of waitressing I will finally be able to relax this weekend with Ev. I think we'll just be getting ready for Easter. We're having a huge meal at Evan's parents house. I hope someday I can be as good a hostess! I hope you have a wonderful weekend!

It's That Time Again...

Awkward & Awesome Thursday!! :)

I am swooning over this vintage suit c/o Modcloth.
Now on to the Awkward and Awesomes of the week!

Awkward
- Having to go to my brother in law's wedding in a few weeks. Evan is in the wedding, and I'm not. So I'll feel super awkward sitting in the front with my in-laws.
- Training our dog. He's two years old, and misbehaves alot.
- When I start Nursing school in the Fall, I'll be in classes with people who were freshmen in high school when I was a senior.
- The mediocre temperatures and massive amounts of rain in the middle of April.
- How much more coffee I've been drinking since marrying Evan. (I'm not blaming him... :))
- How bland dinner was last night. The meatballs were so boring. Ugh.
- How much I hate waitressing. But do it anyways.

Awesome
- The sitcom 'Friends.' It's awesome. And funny. And we watch it every night.
- Apple Puff Pastry. I made some last night to make up for the crappy dinner. Yum-O.
- The Olive Garden. The nearest one to where we live is like an hour away, which stinks, but it makes it more awesome when we get to eat there.
- We're going to Tennessee soon, and I get to see some family I haven't seen in 3 years!
- Will Ferrell on 'The Office.' DeAngelo Vickers. It's perfect.
- Marriage. It's pretty awesome if I may say so myself. <3

Have a Wonderful Thursday friends.

When Bad Things Happen

When I was twelve years old at summer camp, I got a phone call from my dad who told me that my cousin Nikki had passed away. I was a little bit in shock, and I left camp early for the services which were being held in my hometown. Nikki grew up in my hometown with her family, but they all kind of dispersed over the years. Her two sisters moved to Virginia and Florida, and Nikki moved to Mississippi. Her parents moved to Florida too. But everybody came back home for the services. It was so different to me being around all this family I hardly ever saw. I didn't get to know Nikki very well and it is something I have always been sad about. Everyone that knew her said that her energy and laugh and beautiful personality were contagious.
I have learned that life is short and precious and that we should do whatever we can to live it up while we're here. I have decided to write and complete (hopefully) a 101 in 1001. I got the idea here. I will be working on it for awhile, but I'll post as soon as I figure out the 101 things!

Happy Hump Day.

Our Weekend Getaway

Oh my. Evan and I had a wonderful weekend! We left Saturday afternoon, and checked into our inn around three o'clock. We weren't there very long, before we headed out again to head for the city of Rochester. We spend some time at Gander Mountain, and I found a super cute summer dress at Goodwill, and then we ate a delicious dinner at Bugaboo Creek. So. good. I got BBQ Ribs and Chicken. We were both uncomfortably full after dinner! It was so worth it though. Then we got some coffee, and headed to a local college for a Wind Ensemble concert. The music was wonderful, and then we headed back to the inn for some, well, you know. :) We got up, had a great breakfast, did some more shopping in the city and then headed back home. It was just a great weekend, and great to spend some alone time with Evan.

 Here's Mr. Handsome himself.
 At Bugaboo Creek. :)

 Yayy we made it!
 Our room, 'The Garbutt'
 So pensive...
We took a walk and spotted these guys...
 The weather was kinda crappy.
 The inn we stayed at!
Spent a good two hours here...
He's trying to figure out something he bought.
That's me in the mirror. :))

Happy Monday

Weeeeeee

I'm off for a fabulous weekend with the hubs, we're jet setting (not really) to a nearby city to spend some alone time... :) I am super excited to spend some quality time with Evan without having to worry about taking the dog out every two hours, or having to cook three square a day, or having to get up tomorrow morning! I promise there will be pictures, probably way more than you want to look at, tomorrow. Have a wonderful Saturday.

And something that made me laugh so hard that my face hurt.

Lazy Sunday

So, Sunday afternoon around here today looks like this...
1. Grilled cheese for lunch.
2. Sipping on delicious coffee Evan made.

3. Watching him play Xbox.

4. Getting ready for a visit from my wonderful friend LeeAnn.

I haven't seen her since December, and I'm super excited to spend some time with her. We went to college together for one year, and she really came through for me at a time when I felt like I had nobody. She's that awesome.

Have a lovely rest of the weekend!

Fabulous Friday

I'm starting a new trend around here. It's obvi called 'Fabulous Friday.' I'm going to talk about some kick-butt designer rooms that I find. And that I looooove. I know this isn't really a design blog. Or anything else specific blog, but more of a lifestyle blog, and since I often spend myself daydreaming about designing my own kitchen, and eventually our whole house, I thought I would share some stuff that I like.
I love this kitchen. The wood cabinets and the open storage in the island. And i love the display platters above the hood.
This kitchen makes me want to create something delicious! It's just divine. The brick mixed with the wood gives me a wonderful feeling. :)
I love the bold, rich colors in this space. It feels so warm and inviting.
The white! I love it. I'm also a fan of the open hanging display in the middle.

Happy Friday!!

Tis' Thursday Again.

Awkward & Awesome Thursday, baby!

Awkward:
- Going back to see your high school after 3 years, and pretty much not recognizing anybody.
- Last night, I fell asleep with a tissue (clean) in my hand and when I woke up I couldn't find it.
- How much money it costs to go to a private school. Ugh.
- Cleaning out a closet yesterday, and finding pictures of Evan's from college. Of his old girlfriend.
- Pretty much every time I make fried eggs, I break the yolk. It makes me sad.
- Having both toilets at the restaurant where I work be plugged at the same time.
- How much energy our dog has in the morning.

Awesome:
- Going on a little weekend getaway with Evan next week.
- Babysitting a darling last night with Evan.
- The Band Perry.
- When you see people do nice things for other people.
- The chocolate chip cookies I made the other day.
- Cheeseburger Soup. My mom taught me how to make it.

Have a good Thursday!

bored.

So, I'm home alone again today. I decided I was not going to waste the day away watching television and surfing the web. So, I decided I'm going to try and make a collage of some old pictures that are laying around. I got the idea from this lovely list...
If it turns out somewhat nice, I'll share pictures later. :)

Some Ramblings

Before I got married, I spent two years at Roberts Wesleyan College for music. Evan and I talked a lot about what would happen with my education if we decided to get married before he proposed. We decided to get married and that I would take some time off from my education to get adjusted with everything. When I decided to leave Roberts I had a hunch that I wouldn't get much support from the people there. From my friends, or from the professors I had gotten to know. The most surprising reaction I got was from one of my very best friends. When I told her that I wouldn't be coming back the next semester she was mad, sad, hurt, and probably the least supportive of anybody. Our friendship was never the same after we talked about it. We were both on eggshells around each other, and initially didn't speak for weeks. Without any more details, it took us a very long time to get back to speaking terms and to be okay with each other. I haven't seen her in almost one year, and Evan and I just decided that we would go visit the college in a few weeks. I told her about it, and we agreed to meet up. I'm very excited about it, but also nervous. I want it to go well, ya know?

I can't get the pictures I wanted uploaded...

Have a good Tuesday. <3

Monday, Monday.

Monday. Dreadful Monday. After a wonderful weekend with Evan, I once again have to give him up to the work force for 9 hours. For the next five days. To top things off, I don't really feel well today, so I am just laying low today. I did however make a quick trip to the grocery store. I don't know why, but I love grocery shopping. It is the only kind of shopping that I do enjoy. Maybe it's because I love food so much. I'm not overweight or anything but I love food. I love cooking and baking and eating.

In other news, I found out a couple weeks ago that I am officially accepted into the Nursing program at a local college. I'm getting excited about starting school again! I've been a little bored at home three days a week, so I am looking forward to having something to do again!
Anyways, I am hunkering down today with a cup of coffee and watching one of my favorite T.V. shows 'The Big Bang Theory."
Dr. Sheldon Cooper. He's a genius scientist, and kinda crazy.
Howard Wolowitz, an engineer. A ladies man.
                                                                The cast.
Dr. Leonard Hofstader, another scientist. But not as crazy as Sheldon.
Rajesh Koothrapalli. A friend of the other guys.

Do you guys watch 'The Big Bang Theory?' you should...

Friday, April 1, 2011

A couple nights ago, I was laying next to Evan and we just started talking about the things we wanted to do this summer, together. Of the two of us, Evan would much rather stay at home and read or watch movies, and I would rather go out. But, after being married for 7 months (whoa) we've hit a pretty good rhythm. Sometimes we stay in, and sometimes we go out. :o) Anyways, here is our list, and I'm sure we will add stuff that we forgot...
- Go swimming at Rushford Lake.

- Hike on the Susquehanna River Trail.
- Go for bike rides. On our new bikes.

- Go to Darien Lake. And ride the Superman so many times we throw up.

- Go to Sea Breeze. (I've never been there!)

- Go see a Philharmonic Concert. (This one was definitely my idea.)

- Go to the zoo.

- Go to NYC and see a Yankees game.

- Go to the Drive-In a bunch of times.

- Go see as much live music as we can.
- Shoot our new rifle. Only at targets I swear.

That's our list for now... I think it should keep us pretty busy.

Have a wonderful Friday, and weekend!
