Do you know what day it is!?!

It's Awkward and Awesome Thursday!!

- Not going pee yesterday morning before I started making breakfast, and having to run to the bathroom while the eggs were still cooking and then coming back and having eggs stuck to the darn frying pan.
- When I take the dog outside to do his business and somebody walks by, completely distracting the dog from his business.
- How much I love watching re-runs of 'Saved By The Bell' every morning on TBS. Very funny.
- Laying in bed last night and having my stomach make the weirdest noises, and Evan asking 'Uhm, are you okay?'
- The first lasagna I ever made. It was so wrong it was awkward.
- That picture up there...

- The bagel and cream cheese I'm about to eat for breakfast. Delish.
- Eight O' Clock coffee brand. Yumm-O.
- Getting to see my brother in two days!
- Evan and I made a 'Summer To-Do List' last night. It's filled with super fun things that we are going to do together this summer!
- My grandparents are moving back home after being a couple hours away for 20 years. It's going to be pretty great to have them closer.
- The lasagna I made for dinner last night.(Much better than the first time)

Have a wonderful Thursday!

Hump Day!

Hmm, I feel like I have so much to say this morning I don't know where to begin.
Today started out a little stressful, because Evan is going through some trouble at work. He's an electrical engineer for the local power company and to make a long story short, there was an issue with a project he is working on, and if he doesn't get it fixed it could cause really big problems with some power lines. But, he just texted me and said that he was getting things figured out. Which is a huge relief.
I felt kind of down and out this morning, so I decided that I would read from Psalms. I am continually amazed at how God orchestrates things in our lives. I started reading, and came across this...

'O Lord, how many are my foes!
Many are rising against me;
many are saying of my soul,
there is no salvation for him in God.
But you, O Lord, are a shield about me,
my glory, the lifter of my head.
I cried aloud to the Lord,
and he answered me from his holy hill.'
                   Psalms 3:1-4
No matter how down I am feeling, God is the Lifter of my head! I was just so touched by these simple words.

Alright, in other news I cannot wait for the rest of the snow to get the heck out of here. I am just aching to wear a dress, and flip flops! Plus, I don't want to see my winter coat again for months and months!
Since this is a quite word heavy post, here are some rando pictures...

Have a good Wednesday!

A Day of Baking and Cleaning

I have spent the whole day cleaning and baking. I made No-Bake Cookies. The guys at Evan's work love it when I make goodies, and I realized I haven't made anything for them in awhile. So, after a request for No-Bake cookies so I finally obliged. I could never make them as good as my mom, but I gave it my best shot.
Buttermilk Coffee Cake. It's so moist and tasty.

Grady was hanging around, so I thought I would snap a picture of him.
The coffee cake on the left, and the Texas sheet cake (also above) on the right.

Mmmm, I can't wait to sink my teeth into these after dinner tonight! Have a wonderful Tuesday night!

Apple Dumplings

Delicious. The only work that comes to mind when I think about the apple dumplings.  I've never had this particular pastry crust before, but it was really good. We made it with cream cheese. So, it pretty much is automatically delicious.
                                                    Before baking...
After baking. I kinda thought the crust would get more golden, but the apples were definitely done!
And in the middle. The brown makes it look like something disgusting, but it was delicious. Trust me.

If you want the recipe, just let me know!

Girlfriends. (Friends that are girls)

I spent the morning with dear friend of mine, and her beautiful daughter. We looked through some photo albums, played some music, baked some Apple Dumplings (pictures coming later!), and ate lunch. I am so blessed to have this woman's friendship. She has counseled me in so many ways. She got me interested in cooking and baking, and her marriage with her husband has given Evan and I a Godly example of how a marriage should work. I love spending time with her and her family. I always feel refreshed after being around them. Having good girl friends is so important. Since I got married, I haven't spent much time with just my girl friends, and I have recently realized how much I miss them!

Happy Monday!

Having a lovely day so far. . .

It's date night. I'm making Fettucine Alfredo with Chicken. And I thought a nice garden salad would go nicely with it. Cheesecake for dessert. :) I think I'm going to pull my 'We always watch action movies' card to get husband to watch a romantic comedy with me. What are your favorite romantic comedies?

Have a wonderful saturday night.

It's Friday around here, so that means I can...
-sleep in tomorrow
- make a pancake breakfast
- cuddle all day with husband
- go grocery shopping while husband pushes the cart
- go for a lovely walk
- spend some time with a good book and a cup of coffee
- some other stuff with husband ;o)

I am looking forward to picking up our final wedding album today from our photographer, finally. We've only been married for oh... six and a half months. We've had such a positive experience with our photog, I can't help but feel blessed. She was available for a consultation and was so flexible with the images we wanted.

Good News! My brother and his wife just found out that their due date is November 2! This is their second child, and they couldn't be more excited! Annnd, I couldn't be more excited for them. Here are some pictures of their oldest daughter, Isabel...

Happy Friday!!

Awkward and Awesome Thursday :)

Evan and I in Outer Banks, North Carolina.

Awkward & Awesome Thursday is from the lovely Sydney's blog 'The Daybook' and I love it, so I decided to do it too!

- Yesterday, when Evan & I woke up, he asked me, "Hey, in the middle of the night, what were you doing with your hands?" And me having no idea what he was talking about.
- In the episode of "The Office" that I watched yesterday where Micheal asks his real estate agent, Carol to marry him after four dates. At Kelly's Dewali celebration.
- Knowing that I'm writing my blog like people actually read it, when I only have two followers.
- Burning the dessert I made for dinner at my parent's house. And people eating it anyways.

- Getting Evan's car paid off 18 months ahead of time.
- Getting to go on a mini vacation in May, to Tennessee!
- Putting a puzzle together all by myself. A 500 piece puzzle! I know, it's amateur, but I am sooo proud.
- This proposal. I almost started crying.
- My brother and his family are coming to visit in one week! I haven't seen them since Christmas.

More Wedding! :)

People always say that your wedding day flies by, and to a point I agree. The time leading up to the wedding, pretty much all summer went by super slowly, but the actual day did go by pretty fast. I think the only thing I would change is that instead of getting married at four in the afternoon, I would have chosen an earlier time like one o'clock or something...

Anyways, more pictures...

I am 100% in love with this dress.
                                                      Nieces, Isabel and Maddie.
The whole family! From L-R Top: Maddie (Niece), Cass (Sister), Nate (Dad), Lori (Mom), Me, Evan, Lisa (Mother in law), Tom (Father in law), Noah (Brother in law)
Bottom: Isabel (Niece-- check that face out!), Caleb (Brother), Sis (Sister in law), Grandpa, Grandma, Grandma, Grandpa, Hannah (Kyle's fiancee), Kyle (brother in law)

I love the outside pictures that we took, they were just so different than everything else that day.

                                                                 A dear friend, LeeAnn...

Anyways, that was the wedding. Had some friends in from out of town last night. It was great to see them!

I hope you all have a wonderful Tuesday.

Wedding Pt. 1

So I started this blog because it seemed like everybody else was doing it. Then I got interested in a ton of other blogs, so I just read them and neglected my own. But now I think I'm actually going to start using this as an outlet for my thoughts and stuff. Such a novel idea, I know. :)

I will start by sharing some things from our wedding day, some thoughts, tips and of course, some pictures.

So, my wedding day finally arrived, September 4th, by the way. I woke up at fiiiiiiiiiiiive A.M. which is insane, because I pretty much didn't know that five o'clock came twice a day. Anyways, I woke up at five, took a shower before anyone else woke up, and immediately started to feel sick. ha! I did some cleaning at what was going to be our new place, to get it all ready for "the big night." Then the girls went down to the local salon where our beautification took place. I only had my two sisters in the wedding, and Evan (husband) only had his two brothers as groomsmen. We're the simple type.
This is my older sister, Maid of Honor, all ready.
My niece and I, flower girl #1.
                                                                 My beautiful mother.
My brothers wife, Cass, my other bridesmaid.
                                                            Annnnnd me! The blushing bride.

After the salon we went home, saw some amazing family friends who just rolled into town for the weddin. Then we headed to the church.

                                                                   Me and my daddy.
Mmmm, we definitely sealed our love with a kiss.
I was so tired! And we hadn't even taken pictures or started the reception yet!

There will be more wedding posts, but for now... Have a wonderful Monday.
